FOMCA Wants Independent Tribunal To Investigate MRR2 Crack
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 (Bernama) -- The Federation of Malaysian Consumers Associations (FOMCA) wants the government to form and independent tribunal to investigate into the cause of the cracks at pillar 28 of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).
Its secretary-general, Muhammad Sha'ani Abdullah, told Bernama that the Defence Ministry's engineering division should be entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the initial investigations into the cracks as well as to serve as advisor of the tribunal.
"The Works Ministry and consultants involved in the project should not be involved in the investigations," he added.
Sha'ani said FOMCA urged the government to view seriously the incident and to take appropriate measures to overcome it.
"AppropRiate action should be taken against the guilty parties as a lesson to others," he added.
